Laser Removing on Lips - PMU Online Academy

Laser Removing on Lips

So we got to the lip removal. This zone is next in the number of clients after removing eyebrows and tattoos. Lips are a problem area because you can get such lips after removal.

This is not the worst result. It is almost impossible to avoid black lips. It depends neither on you nor on your laser. It depends only on what pigment in the lips. The chances that permanent makeup does not turn black is, but it is almost unpredictable. Therefore, the biggest problem when removing permanent lip makeup is that the pigment turns black. You need to tell that to your clients. Work with the removal of permanent lip makeup only after showing them pictures of black lips and say that they are more likely to have the same.

The question arises, how long will it be black?

Immediately warn the client that this is not for a week or two. The removal of the black pigment takes about 4-5 sessions and it will last from 6 months to 1 year. Therefore, if the client is ready to go with black lips, then let him sign an informed consent to the removal and we can get to work.

If the client agrees, we make the first removal with a 532 nm nozzle, since we work with red, then we get gray or black lips and in the next session we start to work with a 1064nm nozzle and they will start to lighten gradually.

You can also try to remove with a laser a small area in the corner of the lips so that you can see what color it will be, as well as show the client.

Nozzles 532 and 1064 nm are not used for 1 session since it is traumatic for the skin. We remove the color in stages.

Another question from clients during laser removal – How does the laser affect the lips with hyaluronic acid?

The laser does not directly affect hyaluronic acid, BOTOX, etc.

BUT! Due to the general inflammation in the tissues, there will be faster resorption of the fillers in the lips. That is lips filled with hyaluronic acid simply dissolve more quickly. That is, we can guide the client that while we are doing laser removal so that she does not inject the lips, because it will simply not be effective.

You can work from short and far distances on the lips. From a short distance, I recommend working only when your laser machine is already with good mileage from 150-200 thousand flashes.

Sometimes red does not change its color in black or gray, it all depends on the pigment that was originally used in permanent makeup. If it doesn’t change color, it’s even better. But take into account that the red color on the removal does not react as strong as black, so if there is even the slightest change in the removal is already good.

But if you can work on the lips from a long distance, please operate from a long distance with the spot diameter of 6-8mm. In any case, it will be safer.

It happens that the client asks to remove only the contour. In such a situation, take white cardboard or business card, cut it with a bend along the contour and carefully work out the contour. Very important, when removing the contour do not go laser above the skin around the lips as you can get irritation and pigmentation of the skin as a result of exposure to the laser.

About anesthesia. It is painful to remove the lips, so use an anesthetic such as EMLA.

Well, I think that I told you about the nuances of removing the permanent lip makeup and now we’re moving on to the removal of the eyeliners’ permanent makeup.
